Legal Aid ACT's Migration Practice Campaign
Overview
Legal Aid ACT helps people in the ACT with their legal problems, especially people who are socially or economically disadvantaged.
Their aim is to ensure that vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals receive the necessary legal services to assert or defend their rights. Additionally, they work to improve community understanding of the law and advocate for law reforms that benefit those they serve.
The Campaign
In 2024, Legal Aid ACT wanted to disseminate information about their migration practise and spread the word within the multicultural communities located across the Australian Capital Territory about their free legal advice for Protection Visas. Their aim was to inform as many people as possible who do not speak nor read English about their rights.
Legal Aid ACT had requested our services to translate, review with community input, and typeset their three posters into twenty different languages.
The Work
To inform ACT communities about free legal advice for Protection Visas, our team have translated posters into Arabic, Burmese, Dari, Dinka, Farsi, French, Hazaragi, Hindi, Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia), Chinese Simplified (Mandarin), Malaysian, Pashto, Rohingya, Sinhalese, Spanish, Swahili, Tamil, Tok Pisin, Urdu and Vietnamese.
