Eva and Dominic are currently very busy bees traveling around Europe, meeting with staff, clients and different authorities. Here’s a message from Eva, as well as some photos taken on the trip:
“It’s 10 in London and we just got back to our hotel, exhausted but feeling accomplished.
What a day it’s been. Not even the constant rain dampened our spirits. We ended up buying some cheap and cheerful umbrellas, not letting the rain bring us down.
We started the morning off by having a much-needed coffee and croissants at the cafe downstairs in the office complex. We were given a tour of the facility and took the opportunity to take some silly photos. Kate and Dominic were such good sports!
The Somerset House building looks even more impressive in real life, let me tell you!
At lunch time, we met with Eric from Reuters who has kindly taken us through the kind of projects he’s involved in, including mining, energy and resources. We talked about many things, including his work in Kenya, South Africa and Asia.
The Sikorski Museum was our next stop. We were greeted by a very knowledgeable guide who took us through three floors of amazing treasures of Polish military past. We’re in awe of how much he knew but also his impeccable Polish – a real surprise, since he was born in the UK.
Last but not least, we caught up with the deputy manager of the Museum, Jagoda, who entertained us with her stories, displaying much warmth and a wonderful sense of humour!
For dinner, we ended up at Buddha Bar, an ultra trendy sushi restaurant. It was yummy and worth every penny! Our day ended with a planning meeting, after which we did collapse!
Off to Poland tomorrow. Yay!”
