Workshop #1: History of Polish Passports

About this event

Passport – an identity and travel document, as well as a “ticket” to the brave new world. How have they changed over time? How were they made? What kind of information used to be included? Where can you find old passports?

This workshop is going to answer these and many other questions. You’ll learn how to read information included in passports and how to use it for genealogical research. Walk away with tricks and tips on what to consider when researching your ancestral documents. We will also cover whether having a passport meant anything more than ability to travel abroad.

Delivered by Eva Hussain, CEO at Polaron, Deputy President of the Australian Society of Polish Jews, a world expert on Polish citizenship, archival research and language services.
