Training for bicultural workers – Understanding the NDIS

About this event

Are you a Polaron bicultural partner? Are you interested in free training to help you understand the NDIS?

In partnership with the Centre for Culture, Ethnicity and Health (CEH), we are running a workshop to help Polaron partners better understand the concepts and terminology of the NDIS. This initiative is supported by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services.

In this two-hour workshop, you will learn:

  • What is the NDIS and how did it come about?
  • How the rollout of the NDIS is progressing in Victoria, and who is receiving support.
  • How to apply for the NDIS and what happens next.
  • NDIS concepts and key terms and how to translate them in your language.

We will also discuss how cultural beliefs can create barriers to access services.
