About this event
COVID-19 crisis in 2020 exposed the lack of accessible and inclusive health resources for multilingual communities.
The pandemic has challenged the health care sector, translators and interpreters, to quickly adapt and work in new ways to meet the demands of the crisis.
In this online discussion on Facebook, we invited Silvia Teani, NAATI-certified Italian translator and interpreter, to share some of the lessons learned from the pandemic and how this is shaping the future of multilingual communication.
Silvia is specialised in health and community translations and interpreting. She joined the Austin Hospital in 2016 as an in-house interpreter and translator, and worked as Teaching Associate within the Interpreting Stream at Monash University.
