About this event
Practicing inclusive language is an excellent way to show sensitivity, open-mindedness and respect to the diverse communities you work with. The language we use must reflect the diversity present in multicultural communities today. But how do you incorporate this philosophy into your everyday communication practices?
To discuss this topic further, we have invited Margherita Coppolino. Margherita is an inclusion/intersectionality consultant who works as an advisor for government, businesses and social justice organisations. Coming from a diverse background herself, Margherita will be sharing her story about the communication challenges she has faced.
She will also be exploring how organisations can improve their communication channels to reflect intersectionality and inclusivity better.
In this livestream, Margherita will discuss:
- Why inclusive language is essential when reaching Australian diverse communities.
- Ways to use inclusive language in your communications.
- Best examples of inclusive communication.
- Her own personal experiences with inclusivity and intersectionality.
