Conference Interpreting in the Era of COVID-19

About this event

The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed the world, forcing most industries to adapt to new work modes rapidly. The interpreting and translation market might be one of the sectors that has most heavily been affected.

How have professional translators and interpreters been responding to these new challenges? What does the future hold for conference and remote interpreting? And what are the benefits of remote interpreting for multicultural communities and businesses?

Livestreaming on YouTube, Katharina Wawrzon-Stewart, conference interpreter & translator in German, Polish and English, will provide us with insights about these topics.

She will also tell us how she has managed to adapt to the crisis and offer interpreting assistance at multilingual meetings worldwide during these challenging times.

Katharina has a track record of 15 years in the language industry, with experience in conference interpreting, remote simultaneous interpreting, and translation.

She has also been involved in more unusual linguistic challenges, like interviewing Polish gamers about their gaming habits in their homes, and remote interpreting from her living room during a chef’s congress taking place on the other side of the globe.
