Europe’s Most Powerful Passport

The German passport has been ranked as the second strongest passport in the world and Europe’s most powerful travel document, allowing those with German citizenship to travel unhindered.

Passports are ranked by the Henley Passport Index, a system developed by Henley and Partners Law firm. Through the examination of 199 passports, they track how many countries a passport can provide access to, without needing a visa.

Germany has a visa-free and visa-on-arrival score of 190, which means that German citizens with an EU passport can visit 190 countries worldwide with no restrictions.

But what benefits would you be entitled to? From international mobility to unlimited working rights in the European Union, the German passport also allows you to access national health care and connect to your German heritage.
